About ports of DS programs to BlocksDS

Hey!

I've been porting several old DS homebrew programs and games to BlocksDS and made sure that they can all build with modern tools. You can see a list of my ports (and the ports of other developers) here: https://github.com/blocksds/awesome-blocksds

Basically, I've taken libraries like PAlib, µLibrary, Woopsi, Box2D, and ported them to BlocksDS. Then, I've taken some games like Meteora, WolveSlayer, Triple Triad DS, and applications like Eigenmath DS, and ported them as well (sometimes using the ports of the libraries).

So far I've been editing the entries of the games and applications to link to my repositories, while leaving the entries of the original authors alone (and I've made sure to credit the original authors in my repositories, of course!). I just wanted to check that this is ok, because so far I've just assumed that it was fine (and nobody has reverted my changes, so I take that as confirmation that it's ok!).

Thanks,
Antonio

Thank you for reaching out and for your efforts in porting these DS homebrew programs and games to BlocksDS! It’s wonderful to see these classic projects being updated for modern tools and made more accessible for others to enjoy.

Regarding your updates to the entries: as long as the information you’re providing is accurate, the original authors are credited appropriately, and your repository links are shared in a way that doesn’t misrepresent or overwrite the original works, it should be fine.

If you have any doubts or would like additional reassurance, I’d recommend attempting to contact the original authors directly. While many may no longer be active, it’s always a good step when feasible.

Thank you again for your valuable contributions to the community. Keep up the fantastic work!

Best regards,
gb
